Plans for the thrilling muscle-burn of the 10th Rob Roy Challenge are well under way with challengers reminded that the exclusive Barnardo’s Scotland discount code offer ends soon. Register your team before 3 April 2015 to receive a special lower rate of £100 per person [the standard rate registration for this charity fundraiser is £350 per person] – quote ‘Barnardo’s’ when asked for the coupon code.

The Rob Roy Challenge has raised a staggering £2.7 million for charities since its launch in 2006. The 10th event will take place on 20th June 2015. Barnardo’s Scotland, proud to be one of the event’s three charity partners, are inviting teams large and small to show they believe in children by testing their limits along the spectacular Rob Roy Way and raising funds for the local services the charity delivers.

Urging the public to join the 5,238 adventurers who have already conquered the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge, Commonwealth-winning international swimmer Ross Murdoch says, ‘I’m delighted to be supporting the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge on their tenth year anniversary. I hope to get as many people involved as possible whether that’s bronze, silver or gold you’re going for. This year at the Commonwealth Games when I won my gold medal, it was an incredible experience and it was a dream come true for me. And I want to support everyone else who’s participating in this challenge to achieve their own goals and pushing themselves as far as they can go. I want to wish everyone the best and I’ll see you on the finish line on 20th June. Good luck and go for it.’

Covering 16 miles on foot from Drymen, then a further 39 miles on bike, this exhilarating 55-mile challenge runs through some of Scotland’s most historic and beautiful countryside. Once contestants cross the finish line at Kenmore, there is a memorable night of food, dancing [so they can still move?] and celebrations to look forward to.

When speaking of their favourite part of the experience, past participants from IFDS in Stirling say: ‘Challenging ourselves and being able to raise some serious money for some fantastic charities was amazing. The atmosphere and getting to know everyone was great too.’
